"Mission Cool - Now Or Never" is a Trust dedicated to the cause of creating awareness and taking action to stop the onslaught of Global Warming which is today the biggest threat to the world. Time is running out and according to a study done by the scientists of the United Nations Inter Government Panel on climate change, who have pronounced a deadline of 2015, when drastic climatic changes will soon be upon us. We need to quickly find a solution to save the world. Mere intellectual discussions or seminars and planting of few trees on World Environment Day (once a year) are not the effective solutions to meet this threat. Precautionary steps need to be taken as a mass movement on a daily basis by making them a part of our lives.
Mission Cool aims to achieve that and make
us aware that the solution is in our hands. A few steps such
as these would go a long way in making a huge difference for
Mother Earth.
- If each one of us were to turn air -
conditioners down by just one degree it would reduce carbon
emissions to the tune of one tone per person per year.
- Switch off the lights when you are not
using them, do not charge your mobile for too long and never
leave the television or any electronic device on standby.
- We should form car pools and reduce
the number of vehicles plying on our overcrowded roads.
- Plastic cups and bags should be banned.
Both sides of the paper should be used.
- Development of waste management methods
and rain water harvesting system should be encouraged.
- Maintain a green campus and help in
maintaining a green zone in the city that you live in.
- Also, volunteer for environmental
initiatives.
These are some of the actions every citizen of the globe must
take up as a responsibility. If we don’t control it
now as tomorrow could be too late.
Mission Cool is a trust formed by some like
minded people to take immediate initiatives in this direction.
Already a song has been recorded to create mass awareness.
Each individual of the trust incorporates the above mentioned
steps in their respective life styles and are encouraging
others to do the same. Mission Cool seeks the participation
of all the sensible and like minded people in making the world
a better place.
This project is conceived by Mr. R. K. Khanna
who is a founder member of an NGO known as “MISSION
COOL” and is registered with the government of Maharashtra.
With this in mind, the design layout and the construction
of the site, will take care of environmental issues so that
man and nature live in complete harmony. A few important decisions
taken in this regard are as follows:-
- 25000 Trees shall be planted on both
the sides of all internal Roads.
- Forestation shall be done to heal the
Deforestation needed for the Required Planning
- Six Fruit Trees shall be planted in
every acre of saleable area.
- Plantation shall be taken care by a
dedicated team of flora specialists.
- Any future amendments and suggestions
by the Mission Cool authorities/commission shall be followed
strictly.
